Collective Impact Program Graduates Fourth Class of Local Leaders

On Monday, June 18, 2018, The Rider-Pool Foundation offered certificates of completion to 12 community leaders to conclude the 2018 Collective Impact Fellowship Program.

The Foundation created the Collective Impact Fellowship Program with a substantial grant in 2014 to address and measurably improve complex quality of life challenges within neighborhoods surrounding the downtown Neighborhood Improvement Zone (NIZ) through a new system of non-profit leadership.

This intensive nine-month fellowship program brings together not-for-profit and other community leaders representing multiple sectors with a stake in community improvement. The Fellows received 180 hours of training from national experts in effective project design and evaluation, application of collective impact strategies, and innovative capacity building. These new skills can be used to address complex community issues and develop stronger cross-sector partnerships.

To date, 36 Collective Impact Fellows have completed the program and are working in neighborhoods surrounding the NIZ and across the Lehigh Valley. A fifth cohort of 12 Fellows will be announced in the fall of 2018.

Additional support for this class was provided by The Dorothy Rider Pool Health Care Trust.

The Rider-Pool Foundation’s intent is to serve as a means to improve the quality of life in the community, to build on the community’s strengths and add to its vitality, and to increase the capacity of the community to serve the needs of all its citizens. The Trustees of The Foundation have carried forth Dorothy Rider Pool’s wishes and are particularly sensitive to her interests in education, disadvantaged children, and the development of future leadership in our society.
